Sick and need to Throw Up, but can't. Here's help, the Natural Way

I was talking with a friend several weeks ago, and he had told me that he had been sick and felt like throwing up but couldn't. Can you relate? If so this post is for you. You could always try the two fingers method, but your natural response is to pull your fingers out before it works and you walk away unrelieved.

Here's a method my mother used for us kids when we where young, and I am still using it today. She said that she had learned it from her mother on the farm. My mother was also a RN, so she would not have used this method if it would do harm to us.

Mix 1/2 tsp of Baking Soda (not baking powder) with about 1/4 C of warm water. Mix it well and drink it. Now I have to warn you, one of two things will happen, so be ready! You will either puke in the next minute or so or it will neutralize the acid in your stomach and you will feel better. It may also cause you to burp. It will work, so be prepared!

This may seem to some of you a strange post, but the fact is that when you are sick and feel like puking its awful when you can't. The fact is that you generally feel better afterwards. Throwing up is one of the ways your body has of ridding itself of toxins. Usually you sleep pretty good for a while also. Remember to drink enough clear fluids(H2O) to replenish fluid loss by puking. One glass every several hours is good.

So next time you are sick and feel like puking, but can't, give this method a try instead of the two fingers method! You will be glad you did.

  5. Glad to help. It's a lot better than trying to gag yourself with a finger. If you know what I mean.

  6. This was a lifesaver! Wish I read it 6 hours ago when I started running to the bathroom and back with no relief. I didn't even drink it all. First sip was enough and it worked in a matter of seconds. I barely had enough time to put the cup down. I feel so much better now. Thank you very much for sharing this!
