Treating Diaper Rash and Rashes the Natural Way

Our daughter just had a little girl last summer and she was concerned how to treat and get rid of diaper rash. Well here it is for everyone who has babies and grand babies. You take some Rosemary and Thyme out of the kitchen spice rack and get started.  Make a tea out of them. Put 1 tsp of Thyme and 1/2 tsp of Rosemary in a mug. Then fill the mug with boiling  water  (preferably purified) and let it steep until water is cold. Filter out the tea leave and place in a container with a lid (Glass would be best), so you can store it in the fridge. It should last you several weeks. Its that easy and cheap to make. After you change the little one and clean them up, dab the tea liberally on with a cotton ball, let it air dry and diaper as usual. The rash will be gone the next day.

Diaper rash is, believe it or not caused by a virus, the same virus that causes cold sores. So this mixture would probably work on cold sores as well. I have had friends that have tried it when they have broken out in a rash and they have told me it works great.

Thyme and Rosemary both have very powerful antiviral and antibacterial properties in them. The wonderful thing is that you can treat the rash naturally and without chemicals, or store bought remedies, and the added bonus is that it is inexpensive.

My hope is that you will try it and bless someone else with the  information by passing it on!

  1. Interesting! I will pass this on to my children for their use with my grandchildren in diapers.
